Spell checking on the internet

It is always important that the content on your website (or blog) is up to scratch. Spelling mistakes and typos diminish the impact of all the hard work that you put into Internet Marketing and Search Engine Optimisation. Try using a third party add-on like IE Spell to spell check forms that you fill in online: including content for Blog entries and Content Management Systems.
Of course that won't help if you mistype a word for which there is an equivalent spelling, in which case you have to fall back on the carpenter's adage "Measure twice and cut once" or "always proof before publishing".
(no prizes for spotting the typo in the previous blog entry - now corrected - that inspired this blog entry!)

I use After the Deadline for Firefox (http://afterthedeadline.com/). Saved no end of silly mistakes.

Good tip! Looks like a pretty comprehensive spell checker AND grammar checker: making it more useful than the built in Firefox spell checker. I do wish they would all allow check 'English (UK)' - somehow 'organize' seems to be accepted by all of the spell checkers...
Here's an interesting tip from somebody on how to turn the Firefox build in spell checker for even single line entry boxes:

Good tip! Looks like a pretty comprehensive spell checker AND grammar checker: making it more useful than the built in Firefox spell checker. I do wish they would all allow check 'English (UK)' - somehow 'organize' seems to be accepted by all of the spell checkers.
